
Ruben Villa looks to defend his title Friday in Corona

This Friday live from Corona California, fans will have the opportunity to indulge in some of the finest undefeated prospects in Southern California. The Thompson Boxing “Locked and Loaded” card will showcase the talents of rising prospects Saul Sanchez and Ruben Villa both with unblemished records.
In the main event of the night the WBO Youth Featherweight Champion Ruben Villa IV (12-0, 5 KO’s) takes center stage as the unbeaten fighter out of Salinas looks to take down tested Mexican bruiser José Santos Gonzalez (23-6, 13 KO’s) in an eight-round clash of bantamweights. Villa will be placing his unbeaten record on the line against the experience in Gonzalez. Villa says that what he lacks in pro experience he will more than make up for with the relentless preparation he has done for this fight. “I’m ready, I’m focused and I feel like there’s nothing I can’t handle”. Villa who has been boxing nonstop from the age of five had a standout amateur career with over 180 wins. After the Rio Olympic trials he decided “Boxing is a big part of my life, and It’s time to take this to the next level” a skilled technician in the ring Villa looks to dominate his opponent this Friday in the main event, “ This type of exposure is everything I’ve been working for and I can’t wait to prove myself against a very game opponent” you do not want to miss this card which has been “locked and loaded” for the fans viewing pleasure.
In the nights Co main-event, Pacoima’s Saul Sanchez (9-0, 5 KO’s) will be stepping between the ropes to see action in his first 8 round bout. He will be facing a high output boxer in Christian Ayala (12-2, 4 KO’s) When asked how his preparation has changed to meet the demand of his longest scheduled bout he said he has been sparring a lot more than in previous camps, “ I spar at least 30 rounds every week” this will be the fourth contest of the year for the unbeaten bantamweight who was drawn to boxing from the age of 8 years old watching his brother compete and decided to pursue it after seeing how it brought his family together. “I told my dad I wanted to go pro and they have supported my decision ever since” He says despite having the experience disadvantage that he will rely on his amateur experience of over one hundred fights and use the extensive sparring he has gotten in Indio California with his 2016 Olympian sparring partner to come in focused and ready to take home a victory. When asked if all the sparring took a toll on him coming into the fight Sanchez responded saying “Not even a little bit, I actually like it and I’m ready to go.
The undercard will feature Local welterweight prospect Loui Lopez (3-0, 2 KOs) of Corona looking to stay unbeaten and grow his name.
In one of two heavyweight fights of the night. Elvis Garcia (5-2, 5 KOs) of San Diego, Calif. and Oswaldo Ortega (3-8, 1 KO) of Mexico will go up for a four-round battle.
Bantamweight prospect Daniel Guzman (2-1, 1 KO) of Los Angeles will fight an opponent to be named in a four-round showcase. Lightweights Carlos Velazquez and Keith Carson will make their professional debuts in a 4-round fight. Velazquez fighting out of Indio, Calif., while Carson represents Riverside, Calif.
Opening the “Locked n’ Loaded” show are heavyweights Andrey Fedosov (30-3, 25 KOs) of Russia and Miguel Cubos (11-18, 8 KOs) of Mexico in what should be a slugfest of epic proportions.
