Canelo breaks down Billy Joe Saunders in front of 73,126 fans
The Pound for Pound Champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez 56-1-2 (38 KO’s) from Mexico took on the British World Champion Billy Joe Saunders 30-1 (14 KO’s) in front of 73,126 fans at the AT&T Stadium home of the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas last night. In what lasted 8 rounds, Canelo connected Saunders with a powerful uppercut to the right eye instantly causing it swell up. Saunders continue to fight showing signs of distress whenever Alvarez would connect on the right eye. Showing sing of relief after the bell rang, Saunders advise his corner he was done and in pain due to his eye, a broken cheek bone. It was revealed Saunders was taken immediately to the hospital and kept overnight, Saunders may require surgery.
