
17-Year-Old Vito Mielnicki Defeats Corey Champion

New Jersey’s 17-year-old blue-chip welterweight prospect Vito Mielnicki Jr. (5-0, 3 KOs) came away with a unanimous decision over Corey Champion (1-3, 1 KO) tonight on the Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury undercard. Mielnicki Jr. the high school senior, dropped Champion in the first round and completely dominated his opponent from the opening bell. Champion previously by was defeated by another 17-year-old prospect, Xander Zayas (3-0, 2 KOs), on January 11th in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
