Ryan Garcia Walks Away With A Unanimous Decision Against Emmanuel Tagoe

It’s been an anticipated 15-month wait to see Ryan Garcia (22-0-0) back in the ring fighting against Emmanuel Tagoe (32-2-0). And let’s say – Tonight is the night we get to see Garcia’s predicted “destructive KO” make a statement. The energy at the Alamodome is electric as fans from all over cheer with excitement. Tagoe dances his way to the ring in his red, yellow, and green attire with Ghanaian pride. The fans began to cheer as the fan-favorite Ryan King enters the stadium. The bell rings to start the 1st round and the crowd cheers, “Let’s go, Ryan! Let’s go, Ryan! Let’s go, Ryan!”.

Garcia presses Tagoe with his speed and agility hoping to get a 1stround KO but does not succeed. The nail-biter continues in the 2nd round, as Garcia attempts to trap Tagoe on the ropes and begins closing the gap as he connects and drops Tagoe. Bob and weaving Garcia’s hits, Tagoe picks himself up upset blaming the referee for his fall. Entering the 3rd round, Tagoe throws and misses his left hook, and Garcia remains relentless and presses Tagoe, ending the 3rd.

While Garcia attempts to end the match, there is no luck. Up against the ropes, Garcia makes contact and lands a few heavy right-hand punches to end the 4th round. Storming out of the red corner, Garcia and Tagoe stand center stage exchanging jabs leaving fans at the edge of their seat waiting to see if Garcia is going to end this fight before the 7th. No luck! Garcia begins round 7thsending Tagoe back to the ropes and connecting three repeated body shots. Despite his unbeaten record, Garcia continues to press but Tagoe is not going to give up this fight easily.  

The rest of the televised undercard fills out with more action at Alamodome Stadium, starting the 9th round with Tagoe beginning to return the punches, but it’s still no match for the power punches Garcia is throwing. Garcia throws a right uppercut making a clear connection. Tagoe’s knees nearly buckle but are saved by the bell. Connecting a clear jab by Garcia, the crowd again burst out in cheer, “Ryan! Ryan! Ryan!”. The energy of the stadium is remarkable, as Ryan completes a right hook and sends Tagoe into fright as he tries to hold on to finish the 10thand 11th rounds. With the anticipation and completion of a long 12 round, the judge’s scorecard announces the winner by unanimous decision and still undefeated Ryan Garcia.
