“Prince” Charles Martin Knocks Out Gerald Washington in Title Eliminator

By Anthony “Stacks” Saldaña

In the Co-Main Event of the Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury Heavyweight Title fight, Gerald “El Gallo Negro” Washington (20-4-1, 13 KOs) took on “Prince” Charles Martin (28-2-1, 25 KOs) in an IBF Heavyweight Title Eliminator bout. Both fighters started slow feeling each other out and the pace continued through the middle rounds. Then Martin caught Washington with a quick two punch combination leaving Washington on the canvas. Washington beat the count but was still out on his feet forcing referee Tony Weeks to call a halt to the bout at 1:57 mark of the 6th round.
