Rising Stars will be Showcased as “New Blood” Heads Back to Ontario

Friday night Thompson Boxing Promotions returns to the Double Tree in Ontario, California and promises to bring fight fans a big night of action as their “New Blood” series will be headlined by local fan favorite, Super bantamweight Isaac Zarate (14-3-3, 2 KO’s) of San Pedro as he takes on fellow Southpaw, Ramiro Robles (15-7-1, 8 KOs) of Mexico. Robles who has taken on some well known names in the sport including Joseph “JoJo” Diaz, Oscar Negrete, Diego De La Hoya and the World Champion Daniel Roman will look to play spoiler Friday night with a victory over Zarate. The San Pedro native Zarate who is also no stranger to fighting big names and is coming off a well deserved victory over Christian Ayala back in February recently stated “Robles has fought a lot of quality boxers, but so have I. I spar with the world champion Danny Roman all the time so I’m confident going in against Robles. Without question, I know I can beat him.” Fans can expect an all out war as these two Mexicans warriors will bring fireworks and hold nothing back in the ring.


In the Co-main event of the night the alway entertaining, lightweight Manuel “La Tormenta” Mendez (15-2-3, 11 KO’s) of Indio, California looks to get back to his winning ways when he takes on unbeaten prospect Gilberto Espinoza (9-0, 5 KO’s) of Tijuana, Mexico. Mendez who is coming off a draw and knockout loss in his previous two outings will look to walk away victorious Friday night” Espinoza is coming to fight,” said Mendez. “I’ve been ready for months and can’t wait to start another winning streak.”

Friday night Thompson Boxing Promotions will also be showcasing several undefeated prospects including undefeated heavy hitting 19-year old Brandon Valdes (10-0, 6 KO’s) of Barranquilla, Colombia. For Valdes who is managed by Cesar Garcia, this will be his US debut. Supreme Boxing recently spoke to Valdes and he stated “I’m 100% percent ready and excited for Friday night, I’m confident I’ll come away victorious. I’ve sparred with Danny Roman as he prepared for his world title fight against Moises Flores and my trainers Manny Robles and Estrellita have me ready.” Valdes went on to say. “It’s been a dream of a lifetime for me to fight in the United States, it’s an opportunity for me to help my family, and for the world to see who Brandon Valdes is. I know that I have lot to prove but I also know this is a huge step in becoming a world champion. I want to thank everyone that has supported me including the Garcia Family and My brother Oscar Negrete.

Another highly touted prospect on the card Friday night is “The Beast” Saul Sanchez (8-0, 4 KO’s) from Pacoima, California as he goes up against Leonardo Torres (4-10, 1 KO) of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Sanchez who is trained by Joel and Antonio Diaz continues to climb the ranks of the Bantamweight division and has had the opportunity to spar the likes of Diego De La Hoya and Francisco “El Bandido” Vargas in preparation for this bout.

lightweight George Acosta (5-0, 1 KO) of Whittier, California will take on Mexican prospect, Alberto Castillo (2-0, 2 KO’s) Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico.


Featherweight Anthony Chavez (5-0, 1 KOs) of Redlands, California will go up against Josafath Vazquez (5-3, 3 KO’s) of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico.


and lightweight Luis Zarazua (8-0-1, 4 KOs) of McAllen, Texas will take on an opponent to be named later.
