Joseph Landeros Look to Shine in Rosarito, Mexico

Saturday night April 28th undefeated bantamweight prospect Joseph “El Tigre” Landeros (12-0, 12 KO’s) looks to keep his unblemished record and knockout streak alive as he makes his 2018 debut in Rosarito, Baja, California, Mexico as part of “Noche De KO”. Landeros the 17 year old Riverside, California native is one of the most highly touted bantamweight prospects in the country, and has spent his professional career fighting in Mexico including arenas in Sinaloa, Chihuahua, and Aguas Caliente. Landeros started boxing at the early age of seven and growing up won several national and regional amateur championships before deciding to turn professional at the young age of 15. “As a little boy, I always wanted to be a world champion” stated Landeros in recent interview. “I never wanted to win a gold medal or fight in the olympics, my dream was  and still is to become a world champion and to win the WBC title.” Now next Saturday night Landeros who is now trained by Jose “Hollywood” Estrella and former WBC Bantamweight World Champion Raul “Jibaro” Perez looks to get one step close to his dream as he enters the ring against Mexican prospect Irvin Ordaz (6-1, 2 KO’s) from Coacalco, Mexico. Recently Team Landeros made major changes to their camp moving from Lincoln Boxing in Riverside to split sites that include the Jibaro Gym in Tijuana and the Riverside County Boxing Club. While in camp Landeros has sparred at several gyms throughout Southern California including working with former World Champion Israel Vasquez and getting top quality sparring at Magnifico Boxing Gym in South Gate, California “The sparring I got at Magnifico Gym is exactly what I needed” Stated Landeros. “I sparred fast punching and quick thinking opposition. I also want to thank Israel Vasquez for inviting us into his gym and providing me with great advice.”

Landeros is an unsigned independent fighter that looks to make a major announcement this summer and have his US debut in the fall. He has caught the eye of many in the sports and television world. Earlier this year Joseph starred in a Nike commercial that was released during the Winter Olympics and is currently staring in the upcoming Cedar Films motion picture “The 13th Round.” When not busy with acting or boxing, Landeros the 2017 LATV “Boxer of the Year” stays busy helping the less fortunate in the many Mexican communities, and with school work. Currently Landeros is an Honor Roll student at Martin Luther King High School in Riverside and hopes to graduate from high school then major in Business at The University of California Riverside.

Also on the card is undefeated prospect from Parlier, California Evan Anthony Sanchez (2-0, 1 KO) undefeated Jose Salinas (4-0, 4 KO’s) and making his debut is Edgar Burrun. Fans in attendance will also be treated to a mini concert by Los Incompletos De Tijuana.
