Top Rank has officially stated that 122 pound world title holder Jessie Magdaleno will not compete in what would have been the second defense of his title against Cesar Juarez this upcoming November 11.

The 25-year-old Magdaleno (25-0, 18 KOs) was said to have suffered a wrist injury during a sparring session, and the decision was made to pull the plug on the bout. The bout was slated to be the main event of an ESPN telecast that emanated from The Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.

Magdaleno captured the WBO world title last year in a controversial decision victory over Nonito Donaire (38-4, 24 KOs), who just recently left the Top Rank stable and fought his first bout under Richard Schaefer’s RingStar Promotions.

The broadcast will still be happening and the co-feature, which is a junior welterweight battle between Jose Ramirez (20-0, 15 KOs) and Mike Reed (23-0, 12 KOs), will likely be moved up to the main attraction of the event.
