REPORT: Danny Jacobs signs deal with Eddie Hearn; will fight on on HBO

INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA — According to sources, Daniel Jacobs has signed a deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing and will fight on HBO cards.

The 30-year-old Jacobs, who is coming off a decision loss to Gennady Golovkin back in March, has been fighting his last several fights on the Showtime network and will now exclusively fight under the television rival in HBO. Hearn has already been teasing an expansion into the United States for Matchroom, and Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) looks to be the first addition to those plans.

This move will obviously help Jacobs’ plans to land a fight with the likes of David Lemieux, Golovkin and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez as all these athletes exclusively fight under the HBO banner. Sources also tell Supreme Boxing that Al Haymon, who advises many prominent fighters in the sport, will still oversee Jacobs’ career, but will work with Hearn on this new multi-fight deal.
